Getting married at Punta San Vigilio
Punta San Vigilio is a small headland just past Garda on the eastern shore, held in private hands since around 1540 and still, by most accounts, home to the same Guarienti family whose ancestor, the humanist Agostino Brenzoni, commissioned the villa in the first half of the sixteenth century from the architect Michele Sanmicheli. The result is a restrained Renaissance residence rather than an ostentatious one — arcades, a formal Italian garden, and a lemon house with windows worked in a Venetian Gothic style — set among cypress trees that give the whole promontory its unmistakable silhouette from across the lake.
The point itself is tiny: a small, walled harbour tucked beneath the villa, a little church, and the cove known as the Bay of the Sirens on the far side. Locanda San Vigilio, the historic inn built into the same headland, has only fourteen rooms and a single restaurant, its terrace shaded by cypress canopy — "wedding venue" appears among its listed amenities, though as with the villa itself, the exact ceremony and capacity details are worth confirming directly, not assumed from photographs.
There is a single approach road onto the point, and Garda town is only about five minutes away by car along the Gardesana Orientale — but that single road is also the only way in by land, which matters more here than at a venue with several access points.

What a small, single-access headland changes
This page is about Punta San Vigilio specifically — the hub page for weddings on Lake Garda covers the rest of the eastern shore, including Garda town and Torri del Benaco.
One road, or a boat
Land access to the point is a single narrow road — plan arrival times with some buffer, since there is no alternative route if it's busy. A private boat to the small harbour is the other option some couples use instead.
A compact, cypress-lined setting
The promontory is small by design, and the cypress trees that line it give a consistent, enclosed backdrop rather than open lawns — useful to know when planning how far a ceremony or photographs will need to travel across the grounds.
Fourteen rooms, not a resort
Locanda San Vigilio is a genuinely small inn. If your booking includes a room there, Elena can work on-site; for larger guest lists, most of the wedding party will be staying and getting ready elsewhere nearby.
A private home alongside the hotel
Part of the headland is reported to still be the Guarienti family's private residence alongside the inn — worth keeping in mind for which areas are available for your ceremony or photographs, and confirming directly rather than assuming full access.
Confirm your exact ceremony location, room availability and arrival route — road or boat — directly with Locanda San Vigilio, and share the timing with Elena as soon as it's set.
