This page explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It applies to elenapotapenko.com and covers the contact and review forms, and any email correspondence that follows.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Elena Potapenko, a bridal makeup and hair artist based in Veneto, Italy. For any question about your data or this policy, contact mua.elenapotapenko@gmail.com.

What information is collected

When you submit the contact form, this may include:

When you submit a review, this may also include a star rating, your review text, your Instagram handle, and an optional photo you upload.

How this information is used

Your details are used to respond to your inquiry, prepare a quote, and arrange the service you asked about. Reviews are used, with your consent, to display testimonials on the website and social media.

If you tick the "I'd like to receive occasional emails" box on the contact form, your email address is also used to send you occasional updates, tips, or offers related to bridal makeup and hair. This only happens if you actively opt in — the box is never pre-checked — and you can withdraw this consent at any time by emailing mua.elenapotapenko@gmail.com and asking to be removed.

Legal basis for processing

Responding to your inquiry and preparing a quote is based on taking steps at your request before entering into a service agreement (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Sending occasional marketing emails is based on your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before its withdrawal.

Who else sees this information

Form submissions are sent by the website itself to Elena's own Gmail inbox (Google) and, as an instant notification, through Telegram — both so that inquiries can be answered quickly. The website itself is hosted on Vercel. With your consent the site also loads Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used (mouse movement, scrolling, clicks) to show where visitors get stuck; what you type into the form is masked and never appears in a recording, and without consent Clarity is not loaded at all. These are third-party service providers acting as data processors; your information is not sold, and is not shared with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.

How long information is kept

Inquiry details are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and, if you book, for the duration of the working relationship plus a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. If you've opted in to occasional emails, your email is kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email mua.elenapotapenko@gmail.com.

Cookies

This website uses cookies. Cookies necessary for the site to work don't require your consent. Google Analytics (to see how visitors use the site) and Google Ads (to measure ad performance) are only activated after you accept them in the cookie banner shown on your first visit — you're free to decline, and this won't affect your ability to use the site or contact us. See Google's cookie policy and privacy policy for details on how Google processes this data.

Third-party services used to process form submissions (see above) may set their own cookies as part of handling your submission, governed by their own privacy policies.

Children's data

This website is not directed at children, and no data is knowingly collected from minors.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in how the website works. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
