Not everyone who books me is a bride or heading to a gala. Some of the most rewarding appointments are the quiet, ordinary ones: a woman who wants to feel like herself, only more put together, for a personal portrait session, a milestone birthday she's celebrating just with close family, an anniversary dinner, or simply a day she's decided matters enough to not do her own makeup in a rush before running out the door.
Done For You, Not Taught to You
It's worth being clear about what this is and isn't. I also offer private makeup lessons for people who want to learn to do their own everyday makeup better — skin prep, technique, building a routine that works for their own face, taught one-to-one at their pace. This is the opposite of that: it's for the days when you don't want to learn a new skill, you just want someone else to do it well, so you can focus on getting ready for whatever the day actually is.
What an Everyday Session Actually Looks Like
The brief here is usually the opposite of a bridal or event look — the goal is that the makeup shouldn't announce itself. A soft, breathable base that still holds up in daylight and on camera, definition that reads as "well-rested" rather than "made up," and a finish that looks like skin, not like a layer on top of it. It's the same core skill set as any other booking — reading your features, your skin, and the light you'll actually be seen in — just aimed at a different, quieter result.
Occasions Clients Actually Book This For
- A personal or family portrait session, including photos meant to actually be printed or kept, not just a phone snapshot.
- A milestone birthday celebrated privately with family rather than a large party.
- An anniversary, a significant date, or a day that simply feels worth marking.
- Before an important personal event — a difficult conversation, a reunion, a trip — where looking rested and put-together is more about how you feel than how you'll be photographed.
- Simply wanting a professional's hand for a day when your own routine feels like it's not quite landing.
Booking Practicalities
These sessions are generally shorter than a bridal or event booking and I come to you — home, hotel or wherever suits the day — across Verona, Vicenza, Venice, Lake Como, Lake Garda, Milan and the wider Veneto region. Appointments run in English, Italian, Russian or Ukrainian. If you're not sure whether what you have in mind fits this or the event-makeup side of what I do, just describe the day — that's usually the fastest way to figure out what actually suits it. And if you're weighing whether to book hair separately, here's why it's usually worth planning hair and makeup together as one look.
